BEST, Inc. – Terms & Conditions of Service
Estimates & Quotations
BEST, Inc. recommends providing an evaluation sample board whenever possible to ensure accurate quotation and process development. Quotations prepared without physical samples are based upon customer-supplied information including photographs, drawings, specifications, and technical discussions. BEST, Inc. reserves the right to revise quotations upon physical inspection of assemblies received.
Work will commence upon receipt of an approved quotation, purchase order, or authorized payment method.
Workmanship Guarantee
BEST, Inc. warrants that workmanship associated with the specific rework or repair services performed will be free from workmanship defects for a period of ninety (90) days from shipment date.
This workmanship guarantee applies only to:
• The specific rework location
• Solder connections created or modified by BEST, Inc.
• Immediately adjacent components or circuitry directly affected by the rework process
All work is visually inspected in accordance with IPC-A-610 Class 3 acceptance criteria unless otherwise specified in writing by the customer.
This guarantee does not extend to:
• Overall assembly functionality
• Latent or pre-existing defects
• Customer-supplied used or refurbished components
• Prior repair attempts
• Conformal coated assemblies
• Underfilled components
• Moisture-damaged devices
• Assemblies with pad lifting, laminate degradation, barrel cracking, or other pre-existing structural defects
• Failures unrelated to the workmanship performed by BEST, Inc.
BEST, Inc. reserves the right to determine whether a reported issue is attributable to workmanship performed by BEST, Inc.
Rework Process Limitations
PCB rework and repair may expose assemblies to multiple thermal cycles that can result in cosmetic changes, discoloration, or latent material stress. Certain assemblies, materials, coatings, underfills, adhesives, and previously reworked areas may increase process risk and may void workmanship warranty coverage.
Customer is responsible for notifying BEST, Inc. of:
• Moisture sensitive devices
• Thermal limitations
• Special materials
• Underfill usage
• Heat-sensitive components
• Unusual process requirements
Liability Limitation
BEST, Inc.’s liability is strictly limited to correction of verified workmanship defects associated with services performed.
Under no circumstances shall BEST, Inc. be liable for:
• Consequential damages
• Lost profits
• Production downtime
• Loss of use
• Customer penalties
• Field failures
• Recall expenses
• Damages exceeding the amount invoiced for the affected services
Payment Terms
New customers may require prepayment prior to processing. Credit terms may be extended after completion of initial business transactions and approval of credit application.
Past due invoices may be subject to finance charges and collection costs.
Shipping & Risk of Loss
Customers are responsible for inbound shipping and packaging. BEST, Inc. recommends proper ESD and moisture-sensitive packaging practices.
Risk of loss transfers to the customer upon shipment from BEST, Inc.’s facility.
Confidentiality
BEST, Inc. treats customer assemblies, documentation, and technical information as confidential and will not disclose proprietary information except as required to perform contracted services.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
