Our Position on REACH
REACH is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their use as described in EC 1907/2006.. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances. This European law came in to affect in June 1, 2007.
The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of chemical substance properties.
BEST’s REACH Commitment
- The responsibility for fulfilling the obligations of REACH lies with the European importers, manufacturers. and downstream users (your customers in Europe). BEST manufactures all of its products inside of the US.
- Potential obligations might be relevant when you import our products in to the EU/EEA ONLY
- Importers need to register the chemicals as soon as a tonnage threshold of 1 ton per year is reached. This will never happen with the small amount of epoxy kits, dry film backed circuit frames, etc that BEST could supply to your company or your customers-even in our lifetimes!
- Note that mixtures of several chemicals would not have to be registered as such. The obligation (and also the one ton threshold) is always related to each INDIVIDUAL chemical substance as defined in REACH Art. 3.1 contained in the mixture and not for the whole mixture in total. This means there is NO chance that we will exceed this amount)
