PCBs are an integral part of any electronic device, which has a huge impact on overall performance. IPC-A-610 determines the quality standard for PCB's, so it is important to make sure they meet that specification. But do you know how to examine them throughout design and manufacturing?

The most common way for PCB inspection is by looking for irregularities in the thickness of the board. If you're unsure how thick it should be, just compare it with a sample or an existing one if possible—checking that there are no bends on its surface and free from cracks will ensure quality. Also, check whether two or more pads are combined due to excessive solder application, commonly called Solder Bridging.
