Dear Electronics Colleague:

As I traveled through the heartland recently, I stopped at the Detroit Auto Show. I thought about all of the options we have in front of us, including the alternatives for vehicle fuels, autonomous driving systems, as well as all of the infotainment that will be in cars. This just tells me that electronics will be a big part of the vehicle industry in the future.

StencilQuik(TM) for Mask Repair Underneath BGAs

When our StencilQuik(TM) product was developed nearly (11) years ago, the primary purpose was being able to reliably and quickly allow for techs to place a BGA on a prototype or replace a BGA as part of a removal/replacement process with little equipment investment. Tens of thousands of StencilQuik(TM) orders later, another use has come into its own. The StencilQuik(TM) product can be used to place devices AND repair damaged solder mask at the same time. OnLine Testing for IPC Certification Program

The IPC certification program will soon move completely to online testing as of April 2015.The advantages to this move, originally announced last summer include:1. Tracking and verification of certifications online for all2. More robust testing with online randomized test questions and mixed answers for greater program robustness3. Trivia Contest-February 2015

Josh from GaiTronics was the first to answer last month's trivia question regarding the artist who befriended a group of Frenchmen and brought with them their wealthy family dollars to help put impressionism on the map. The answer was: Mary Cassatt.

From now until the end of the year in anticipation of the new Star Wars movie being released, we will be offering Star Wars prizes for all of the monthly winners. This month it is a set of (10) Darth Vadar wine charms. At the end of the year all winners (right answer within (1) day of the question coming out, not just that months' winner) will be eligible to win a working lightsaber.
