During this course, the student will be introduced to the concept of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and control methods, component identification, workmanship standards, and hands-on soldering/desoldering techniques utilizing state-of-the-art workstations. This course is structured to be in accordance with IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711.

BEST has a variety method for delivery of the mixed technology rework class including at our company headquarters in Chicago, at one of our locations in Minneapolis, Cleveland, Detroit, Nashville or within our unique mobile training center.

Upon completion of the course, students receive a BEST certificate of completion.

Topics Include:
  • ESD
  • Component ID
  • IPC Class 2 workmanship standards
  • Through-hole soldering and de-soldering (rework)
  • Surface mount soldering and de-soldering (rework)

This is a 5-day, primarily hands-on course. It is designed to teach selected content to soldering techs who have some experience in soldering.
