BEST Wins Product of the Year Award for
StencilQuik
BEST Wins 2004 VISION Award. StencilQuik(TM)
has been honored with the coveted Vision
Award for 2004 Product of the Year under the
Rework Products category. "For 10 years the
SMT VISION Award has been the vehicle for
recognizing products and services within the
electronics assembly market that excel in
innovation, cost savings and overall
excellence," said John Bubello, publisher of
SMT. A panel of industry experts select the
winners.
StencilQuik(TM) Key Values The
key values more and more users are
recognizing in this product include: the
elimination of time- consuming mask
repair, the ability to prevent solder
shorts when placing a BGA as well as the
ability to reduce rework times.
Are you wondering who that new voice belongs
to the last time you called BEST? (Yes you
actually get a "live" person when you call
BEST) Douglass Dabe recently joined BEST as
the primary customer contact person for
rework, repair and build services. Doug
brings excellent organizational skills along
with experience in servicing customers.
Where is Dan going? Dan Nummela
has been given the new responsibility of
BGA supervisor. Dan will have a big job
on his shoulders as BEST adds new
capacity. In addition Dan will be
responsible for bringing his staff up to
speed on lead-free processes as well as
developing new StencilQuik(TM)
processes.
BEST is pleased to announce that it took 2nd
place in the prestigious Service Excellence
Awards. This award was recognized at
this year's APEX. This honor is awarded
yearly to companies displaying excellence in
several service categories. Customers of SEA
participants rated each company on a scale
of 1 (poor) to 5 (superior) in five service
categories. These include quality,
responsiveness, price/value and technology.
This is the 13th year Circuits Assembly has
sponsored the awards program.
In mid-March BEST launched the web-based
version of its lead-free solder training introductory
course. Now single users can benefit from
the material put together on the processes,
materials and lead-free changeover issues.
This learning, module can be completed
wherever and whenever the student has
internet access. Students must complete a
test at the end of each module in order to
successfully pass the course.
This introductory lead-free module is
intended for all areas in your organization.
Purchasing, program management, process
technicians, quality control and
costing/accounting departments can be
certified with this introductory lead-free
course.
Upcoming modules which will be
launched include the basics of lead-free
hand soldering and rework as well as a
lead-free wave processing.
